California Missions
I have personally been fascinated with the 21 California missions. These Spanish missions represent the state's oldest and richest historical legacy. Established by Franciscan missionaries, of which Father Junipero Serra is the most well-known, the missions were designed by artisans from Mexico and built and decorated largely by Native Americans. They are rich in interesting facts and have amazing architecture built on the needs of each mission. I have traveled to all 21 missions and throughout this journey, I have taken many 35 mm black and white images along with 4X5 sheet film. Here we are in the world of digital images. I decided to start scanning film images and enter them into digital software to hand-color each image digitally as I did when I hand-colored one of my silver gelatin darkroom prints. I’m now in the process of working on several new images. If you have any interest in seeing the new products, please enter your email below and updates will be sent!
